Basic dietary rules for gout
To gain a clear understanding of the principles of nutrition, you must remember the main causes of gout. The disease is characterized by high levels of uric acid (sodium urate) in the blood. Over time, it accumulates in the joints, and then in the muscle tissue, forming a tophus (cavity filled with solid deposits), kidney stones appear. Uric acid enters the body with the help of purines: the protein element in our food.
Purine fractionation is a common biochemical reaction that produces veins. They leave the body with urine, that is, they are excreted by the kidneys. Veins are a natural antioxidant, a substance that prevents premature cell damage.
What happens with gout? Vein levels increase dramatically and the material begins to crystallize at the joints.
The surface of the articular head has a fine cartilage structure. Sharp crystals, of course, ruin it. The person begins to experience severe pain when moving limbs. The inflammatory process begins.
From a simple chemical analysis it is clear that purines form from the breakdown of their own protein compounds and enter the bloodstream. So, if possible, you should exclude protein products from the diet.
Reduce meat and fish as these foods increase purine. There should be no beef, lamb or pork on the dining table. A large amount of salt should be removed. If possible, it is best to eliminate salt and hot seasonings from the diet altogether. This is related to the maintenance of the kidneys, as in gout, the kidneys are under direct threat.
Like any diet, alcohol should be avoided for gout. Any alcohol (beer - especially for gout) is contraindicated for you, this delays the production of uric acid by the kidneys, which contributes to its accumulation in the blood. A "low purine" diet will help reduce or eliminate the occurrence of gout.

- eat Mediterranean food
- frequent meals and fractions in small portions up to 6 times a day;

- minimum amount of table salt and foods containing purines;

- fasting is forbidden.
